Interlude

That's a first draft, written.  It clocks in at 33000 words, which makes it a novelette, rather than a novel, but...   Well, it's a first draft.  So far, reading it is a lot like being treated to a collection of things I want to improve.  The big sweeping ones:

1) The characters are often vague as I hurried to talk about neat stuff.  They need their motivations and descriptions beefed up, both at introduction and throughout.

2) The whole thing starts too slow and ends too fast.

3) The antagonists need more love, need to make more sense, have more variety.

4) Kingsport could use a bit of description as a place in and of itself.
